Plus Tequila Works has two other projects on its hands. Or at least, originally touted by Nintendo. Porting to the Switch is proving to be more difficult for developers, and more costly, than originally anticipated. The delay, while disappointing, isn’t a big surprise. Part Legend of Zelda, part Ico and with a dash of The Witness, it’s shaping up as a meaningful entry into the currently slim Nintendo Switch library. Set in a semi open-world, it uses light, perspective, sound and other environmental factors as part of its puzzle-solving, leaving combat on the backburner. Rime initially caught our attention for its atmospheric, puzzle-orientated tale of a boy lost on a deserted island trying to find a way back to civilization. It also confirmed the previously reported $20 price hike on the Xbox One and PS4 versions. Rime’s Australian distributor, Five Star Games, sent us an email today with its upcoming release schedule, showing the new release window for the game. We can confirm that Rime has been officially placed in a Q3 2017 release window, which spans anywhere from July to September. The Nintendo Switch edition was always set to be released later, but all reports had it still hitting a June release window. On May 26, the game will land worldwide on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It has been in and out of developmental hell like a yo-yo over the last four years, but is finally nearing a release. The upcoming indie adventure game Rime by Tequila Works is a title we have been keeping a close eye on. Releasing in May on PS4, PC and Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch version of upcoming indie adventure Rime has been pushed back to later in 2017.
